Shortly after tweeting, “Check 106 and park today. I’mmmm baaacckkk,” Chris Brown hit BET’s “106 & Park” stage to discuss his BET Awards Michael Jackson tribute, the rumored tour with Usher and to teach his fans how to dougie.
“A lot of people don’t know, I was going to see Michael Jackson the day he died. I was on my way to the Staples Center that day,” Brown told an overly excited crowd of weeping, mostly female fans. “When I heard ‘Man In The Mirror,’ it just touched me. It wasn’t fake. I know people were trying to put extras on it, but everything was genuine. That was my ultimate apology, hands down.“
About currently being No. 5 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart this week with his “Deuces” track — a fact host Terrence J got incorrect during the live broadcast, claiming Brown had reached No. 1 — Brown said it felt “unbelievable,” then thanked his fans for their unconditional support.
When asked about the tour with Usher, Brown said it might happen at some point, but for now he wants to focus on his own career. “At first we were talking about it, but maybe in the future. For now, just doing the Chris Breezy thing,” he said, adding that the video to his “Matrix” track will be released after his upcoming “Takers” flick, which hits theaters this Friday (Aug. 27). “It’s a five to six-minute short film,” he revealed about the clip.
And, of course, a Chris Brown appearance wouldn’t be complete without a dance — this time set to Cali Swag District’s “Dougie” track.
Letter from Bizzy bone:
My view was seeing how Bone Thugs n Harmony (in my eyes a mega legendary group) has been placed in a losing situation.
This is the reason why I (BizzyBone) decided to go on my own and deal with labels of the Cash Money nature.
To me it would be the ideal label for the likes of myself or even the entire Bone Thugs n Harmony group.
Cash Money, Young Money
and such labels as this know how to treat a artist.
Whether the artist has been in the industry for a decade or brand new to the system.
They (Cash Money, Young Money, G Unit etc.) respect the artist position and know how to market and promote a top caliber artist(s).
:Basically to keep a artist hot:
The label has to believe in them and clean them up so they shine like the pristine diamond (10 million + copies) sellers that they’ve accomplished.
Instead these major labels put huge names on the roster for looks and investments. Treating a artist like shit , but bigging them up towards investors for larger budgets and when its goes down hill the blame is on the artist(s) or group(s).
That makes the artist(s) value go down lower and lower and puts forth a black cloud over them that only talent and perseverance can dissipate.
Only Lyor Cohen (from my studies and research) truly understands this fact.
Labels like Cash Money, Young Money, G-Unit have continuously showed majors THERE IS NO RECESSION!
This is simply a excuse for majors to sit on their asses and control who’s hot and who’s not.
Whether their endorsement of who’s hot is mediocre or flat out shitty (with enough radio and hype any artist can look successful) yall know who they are no need to call em out. Playa gotta eat.
With Barack Obama being the first black president and jobs in MAINSTREAM AMERICA declining, this was a opportune time to feed the Hip Hop community this (Recession) fallacy.
Remember HIP HOP COVERS THE GLOBE NOT JUST MAINSTREAM AMERICA!
There is enough money for everyone.
Lil’ Wayne 1 mill + in
1 week, Drake 450,000 + in one
With them under the Cash Money umbrella I can see how people can misinterpret my comments.
With the recent sales of Bone Thugs, mediocre at best, I feel it is a must to stand up for my brothers, regardless of me being a solo artist since 1998 contractually, they still my muh~f**ken dude’s.
So I’m standing for them and others caught in that dark place. With Bone I learned to separate Business and pleasure, friendship and personal. Those are my golden rules towards the brothers.
So that was the discussion. Basically Cash Money has the upmost respect from me along with their offsprings and affiliates.
BABY, SLIM, FIDDY, DIDDY (Sean Combs), bless yall for yall continuous work in the Hip Hop community. I see yall and appreciate you all as well as the others whom follow in yall footsteps.
I’m 44 records deep and even celebrity rehab won’t take me? (Some humor)
Also I’m not trying to have any falsehood statements or press releases out there.
Thank ALLHIPHOP.COM for getting this straight. Very reputable of you and expedient.
Lock down Love Lil Wayne. The entire Hip Hop community eagerly awaits your return.
Bizzy the Kid
(yall remember used to be in Bone Thugs n Harmony?)
P.S. I was asked by the group to not go on tour because I negotiated my own show money that’s why I wasn’t there.
Long Live Child Support BUCK BUUUUUUUCK!
Bow Wow is feeling anxious about his next album. He’s been promoting his new movie ‘Lottery Ticket’ and hasn’t had the time to get in the booth. The Cash Money rapper told Nnete of Houston’s 97.9 The Box that he recently called up his former protege, Jermaine Dupri to share his concerns.
“I was just talking to Jermaine [Dupri] yesterday. I called him and was like ‘yo I know I never really called you and said anything like this before. I’m kind of scared, I’m nervous because I wanna get in the studio so bad. I’m know for putting out hit records and I don’t wanna be away for too long to where I don’t know what that feeling feels like again.‘”
It’s both a gift and a curse for the 23 year old, but he says Birdman is very happy that he’s opened the door for more Cash Money artists to get movie roles. Bow Wow reveals that he almost got Nicki Minaj a part in the movie.
“To be honest Nicki was close to being “Nikki” in the movie…I was responsible for that. I said let’s get Nicki out here to audition and I called Nicki and she actually auditioned. I thought she did good but unfortunately you know how things don’t work out.“
Bow recently visited Lil Wayne is prison. He said Weezy told him to stay out of trouble because guys like them aren’t built for jail.
“It was a humbling experience and one thing he told me when I went to visit him was ‘Bow, This aint for us, this aint it.. This aint built for cats like us. They don’t understand us we don’t understand them.. don’t do it man, just stay out of trouble you and Drizzy yall stay clean yall stay doing what yall do yall can do this forever. all of this, it aint worth it . I knew he meant it, cause Tune never lectures me like that but he was serious.’ His spirits are high. When he gets out we definitely planning on this Young Money Cash Money Tour, myself, Nicki, Drizzy Wayne and the whole entire family.”
(AllHipHop News) Eminem is heading back to his old stomping grounds to host his own competition rap battle competition fashioned after the famous battle scenes in his hit movie 8 Mile.
The Detroit rapper will host a freestyle rap competition titled “Red Bull EmSee: The Road to 8 Mile National Finals” at St. Andrews Hall in Detroit, one of the most legendary hip-hop venues in the country.
The rap battle will be similar to those featured in Em’s movie 8 Mile where he starred as “Rabbit,” an up and coming Detroit rapper.
The competition will feature eight rappers who emerged from regional battles in cities like New York, San Francisco and Philadelphia.
Slaughterhouse, the hip-hop foursome that is rumored to be signing a deal with Eminem’s Shady Records (and includes Detroit rapper Royce da 5′9″), will also perform at the event.
During the final showdown, Em himself will determine the winner is slated to take place on August 26th and
Tickets can be purchased for $8 from LiveNation.com.
Ne-Yo took a playful shot at the size of Rihanna’s forehead according to the UK Mirror.
Ne-Yo was a guest of Kimberly Walsh on her Viva TV Show ‘Suck My Pop‘ when he said. “Everyone knows that Rihanna has a great big forehead! There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s just… Rihanna’s forehead is two of yours! I can say that because I’m big brother.“
After the success of her collaboration with Eminem, Rihanna’s label is calling up the producer behind the No. 1 record to cook up another hit for her next album.
Alex Da Kid, who produced Rihanna’s duet with Eminem, “Love the Way You Lie,” tells Billboard that Island Def Jam is hungry for another smash for their star’s new album. “We worked together about a year before ‘Love the Way You Lie’ in London, and obviously that song has helped the people around her and her label say, ‘Oh, that’s a big hit, we want another one,’” says the Londoner. “You know how the music industry is.”
The in-demand hitmaker, who’s recently been in the studio with Avril Lavigne, describes RiRi’s new music as a combination of her past work. “I’d say it’s like a mixture of her two sides. It’s commercial, but at the same time it’s got an edge to it—it has substance.”
JustJared caught up with Rihanna after her Madison Square Garden show last week where she told him that the project will be “strong, fun, and sassy.” Check out some backstage footage from her New York City show below.
Beyonce is letting the world know that she isn’t dropping any babies anytime soon.
“In a new interview with The Daily Mail, the normally tight-lipped singer opens up about her plans to one day start a family with hubby Jay-Z.
“My ambition is to continue to learn about the world and to eventually have a family,” she says.
But Knowles, 28, insists that she’s in no rush to become a mother, saying that there are “no dates, no times — it will happen when I am ready.”
So what’s stopping the “Single Ladies” singer from trading her world tour for diaper duty?
“Probably the biggest challenge in my life is time — making sure I have time to be a wife, to be a singer, to be a songwriter, to be an actor and still have time for my clothing line and now for my perfume,” Knowles confesses. “I am like any other woman who has a child, who has a husband, who has a job. I think it’s the hardest thing about being a woman because we have so many responsibilities.”
She continues: “For me, balance is always really hard to find. I love so many different things, and to have the discipline to turn certain things away and focus on one thing at a time so that I can give it 100 percent is really hard.”
Still, the singer says she’s more open to the idea of having children with her 40-year-old husband now that she feels more confident as a woman.
“It takes time to figure out who you are and I am still discovering different things about myself,” she says. “More and more I know who I am, I know what I like, I know what I want, and that makes me feel so free. I don’t need to hide anymore.””
Birdman and Slim are set to add another star to their already filled to the brim Cash Money roster.
According to Allhiphop, Bizzy Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is about to join the label with a solo deal.
Bizzy has been in the news a lot throughout his career, and it hasn’t always been positive. He’s clashed frequently with his band mates. This could be the fresh start he needs to pull things together.
Bizzy did not make an appearance during Bone Thugs’ latest reunion tour, although he did take part in recording the group’s most recent album, ‘Uni-5: The World’s Enemy’.
Maybe news of Bizzy’s new heavy metal album, ‘Crossroads 2010′ piqued Birdman’s interest, since Lil Wayne released a rock album, ‘Rebirth‘ recently.
Whatever the reason he’s joining Weezy’s house, we wish Bizzy the best of luck.
‘Crossroads 2010′ is due out August 24.
